Description

A vibrant blend of spicy, Cajun-seared shrimp topped with a refreshing, sweet and tangy mango salsa. This dish offers a perfect balance of heat and sweetness in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 ripe mango, diced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, juiced and zested
  • 1/4 tsp salt for salsa

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine diced mango, red onion, cilantro, lime juice, lime zest, and salt. Stir well and set aside to marinate.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the shrimp to the spice mix and toss until evenly coated on all sides.
  4. Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  5. Add shrimp in a single layer and sear for 2 minutes per side until a dark crust forms and shrimp are opaque.
  6. Add butter to the pan during the last minute of cooking, swirling to glaze the shrimp.
  7. Remove shrimp from the pan and plate immediately. Top with a generous scoop of the chilled mango salsa.
