Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat; drain excess fat.
  2. Add onions and carrots to the beef and sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce; simmer for 10 minutes until thickened.
  4. Stir in frozen peas and remove from heat.
  5. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender; drain and mash with butter and cream.
  6. Pour the meat filling into a baking dish and smooth the top.
  7. Pipe mashed potato mounds on top and carve ghost faces with a toothpick.
  8. Broil for 3-5 minutes until potato peaks are golden brown.
