Description

A creamy, one-pot dinner featuring savory browned beef and toasted orzo pasta finished with Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 cup uncooked orzo pasta
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked; drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add diced onion and minced garlic to the pan, sautéing until onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in butter and dry orzo, toasting the pasta for 2-3 minutes until slightly golden.
  4. Pour in beef broth, scraping the bottom of the pan to release browned bits.
  5. Cover and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes or until liquid is absorbed and orzo is tender.
  6. Remove from heat, fold in Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
